This past summer, I had the incredible opportunity to live on the picturesque island of Nantucket and take a class with the renowned master printmaker, John Carruthers.
John’s relaxed and playful approach to printmaking reignited my passion for the medium, and I couldn’t be more thrilled that I decided to dive back into it. The piece I’m sharing here is the first linocut I did in class—a depiction of a blue whale, a creature deeply connected to Nantucket’s rich history and maritime legacy.
